1934 Packard Coupe Deluxe Bare-Metal Respray
• PPG Custom mix ‘Burgundy’ colour
• PPG ‘Jet Black’ colour
• PPG OptiClear High-Gloss Clearcoat

This 1934 Packard Coupe Deluxe was brought to Ol’ School Garage for a complete bare metal respray. The vehicle underwent meticulous bodywork, preparation, and multi-stage painting to achieve a flawless finish.
Given the two-tone paint and the sheer size of the vehicle, the paint process was extensive. Front guards measure nearly 2 meters each, and the project included over 50 individual parts—most of which required detailed bodywork and paint inside and out.
The vehicle received multiple coats of basecoat colour and clearcoat, resulting in a glass-like finish that showcases the depth and richness of the colours.
This Packard was originally hand-built, with every component crafted to exacting standards. During assembly, modern paint thickness presented challenges, as bolts and fittings did not align perfectly due to the additional layers compared to the original 1934 finish.
The craftsmanship and attention to detail on this project earned the vehicle an invitation to the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, California, USA.
We are fortunate and privileged to work on this vehicle, as examples like this are increasingly rare to find, and even rarer to restore to their original glory.
