• 'Nightmist Blue' paint, Ford #1903-A

This 1967 Shelby GT350 has undergone a painstaking, nut-and-bolt factory concours restoration, ensuring every single component has been meticulously rebuilt, refinished, or replaced with OEM-correct parts. Every effort has been made to recreate the exact specifications, finishes, and details that Carroll Shelby’s team originally crafted at Shelby American.

Body & Exterior

The restoration begins with a complete disassembly down to the bare shell. The body is sandblasted and carefully inspected for any imperfections before being restored with factory-correct sheet metal, ensuring precise panel fitment. The car is painted in its original Nightmist Blue with white stripes, using period-correct techniques to replicate the original finish.

Authentic Shelby badging, Cobra emblems, and all fiberglass parts, hood, scoops, nose cone and boot have been fully refurbished and finished as factory right down to the foil stickers from the manufacturers. The Magnum 500 wheels are factory-original, wrapped in period-correct Firestone tires.

Engine & Drivetrain

Under the hood, the matching-number 289 Hi-Po V8 has been completely rebuilt to factory specifications, with correct internals, intake manifold, and the original Holley 715 CFM carburettor. The motor is balanced and blueprinted, ensuring it delivers its factory-rated 306 horsepower with smooth and crisp responsiveness.

The 4-speed manual Toploader transmission has been fully rebuilt, with factory-correct gear ratios, ensuring seamless shifting just as Shelby intended. The 9-inch rear end with factory 3.89 gearing is restored to original specs, delivering the iconic GT350 driving experience.

Suspension & Braking

The suspension has been fully restored, utilizing correct Koni shocks, Shelby-specific traction bars, and factory sway bars, providing the precise handling characteristics of the original car. The braking system retains its correct front power disc brakes and rear drum setup.

Interior & Trim

Inside, the cabin is restored to showroom condition, featuring its original black vinyl bucket seats with correct materials and stitching. The woodgrain-rimmed Cobra steering wheel, factory dash layout, and gauges have all been refurbished or replaced with exact-match components. A factory wiring loom was sourced from Branda performance in the US.

The roll bar and inertia-reel harnesses, unique to Shelby models, are original items fully cleaned and inspected before refitting. The carpet is factory-grade loop carpeting, and the door panels feature correct brushed aluminium inserts.

Final Touches & Authenticity

No detail has been overlooked in ensuring this Shelby GT350 meets true concours standards: every bolt, fastener, and decal mirror’s factory specifications, including the correct Ford inspection tags placed throughout the engine bay.

This restoration was undertaken with the intent to preserve automotive history, ensuring that this 1967 GT350 stands as close to its original, showroom-fresh condition as possible. From the rumble of the 289 Hi-Po V8 to the unmistakable styling that defines Shelby’s golden era, this masterpiece is as close as one can get to stepping into a new GT350 in 1967.
