The owner originally purchased the vehicle while working in the USA and used it as his daily driver. He later brought it back to Australia with the intention of restoring it. For many years, the car sat in a barn while the owner carefully sourced all the necessary parts for a complete restoration.
Body & Exterior
This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Convertible arrived with a tired, cracked fibreglass body, metal components showing age and rust, and a driveline in need of attention. The car underwent a complete nut-and-bolt restoration, bringing every component back to life. The fibreglass body was meticulously repaired and refinished in Daytona Yellow, complemented by painted sharp black graphics that accentuate the C3’s iconic muscular lines. Each panel was restored to perfection, highlighting the Corvette’s classic silhouette and presenting a fully rejuvenated, striking exterior.
Engine & Drivetrain
Under the hood, the Corvette’s 350 V8 small-block was stroked for added performance and paired with a 4-speed Toploader gearbox. These upgrades provide both reliability and punch, ensuring the car delivers a satisfying drive on modern roads while staying true to its classic muscle car character.
Suspension & Braking
Modern drivability was a key focus, with Ridetech suspension components fitted to enhance ride quality and handling precision. Braking performance was upgraded to match with Wilwood components, and Flaming River steering components were added for sharper, more responsive control, allowing the Corvette to drive confidently while maintaining its classic feel.
Interior & Trim
The interior was completely refreshed with new black trim, carpeting, and fully rebuilt gauges. Wiring was upgraded using a new American Autowire loom to ensure reliability. Brightwork was polished back to its former glory, creating an interior that matches the exterior in precision and shine, while retaining the classic character of the 1969 Corvette.
Custom Touches
Subtle modern upgrades were integrated where they would make the biggest difference without compromising the car’s original aesthetic. From suspension and brake enhancements to steering improvements, every modification was carefully chosen to elevate driving experience while preserving the Corvette’s timeless appeal.
